Baby's Cosage

Baby took several pictures with her cosage,  kept saying "I cannot believe she bought the flower! She shouldn't! But it's so beautiful!" "SHE" is Baby's friend's mother.

Baby is 15. Her best friend in school is a 16 year old boy. She trusts him with his driving; she trusts him with her food during the school dance. Whenever the boy gets hurt by girls or dumped by his girlfriends; he would text baby "I am single". Otherwise baby would find him, putting the broken pieces together and gave him a brand new, happy heart. Most of times, his girlfriends dump him because of Baby. There are always someone tells the girlfriends that the one girl he likes is Baby.

Baby had been friends with the boy since they first met in 9th grade. "He is such a happy boy. Whenever I see him, if he isn't smiling stupidly then he is stuidly smiling. He is soooo sweet." That's how Baby describe it. "It's like a fairtale when I am with him. Nothing is bad in his life."

Actually that is not true. The boy is "serverely dyslexic". He reads at a 4th grade level as a 9th grade student. That's how I got to meet him. School district was supporting teachers getting certified for a special reading program.  I wanted to work for it but stuck there for not having an appropriate student to work with. The student had to have a decent IQ but weak in decoding and spelling in English language.  The ESE team in my school works hard. All our students with decent IQ were taken cared of.  The only one whom I could target on and pretested told me that he was moving.  It would be a year and half program. The students had to be able to work with me for at least 60 45 minute lessons to finish the program. I couldn't afford a drop off on this. I wanted to do it. It would be a great chance for my professional development. It would be a plus for my teaching experience, too. By the way, a certified Wilson Language teacher could charge 45 to 60 dollars/per hour for tutoring.

One day, I was cooking,  Baby came up to me "Mom,, you looked stressed". I gave her a smile.
"How is the Wilson thing going?"
"Oh, I think I am not going to do it."
"Why? I think you want to do it."
"I don't have a kid".
"Want to hear about my friend? The boy in my research class has an IQ over 14o. He is so smart. All his brothers and his siter is that smart. but he cannot read.  He writes today "tobay". "
"He is dyslexic?"
"Yeah, that's the thing he has."
