How to Prevent Alzheimer's Disease

According to the National Institute of Aging, Alzheimer's disease (AD) is defined as an irreversible, progressive brain disease that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually even the ability to carry out the simplest tasks. Your odds of getting it are 1-in-8 at age 65 and a staggering 1 in 2.5 if you make it to 85. Even worse, no effective medical treatments currently exist for AD--and none are likely to be coming until well into the future...if at all. But as Jon Barron points out in this issue of the newsletter, if you look outside the medical community, you find that there are some things you can do, that although not "proven," are nevertheless "a good bet." So, as Dirty Harry once said, "How lucky do you feel?"
