My wife has 3 petite theft against her (all with in last 12 months). She has
severe bipolar, and was taken medicine when she committed those offenses. and had been taken to emergency psychiatric service twice by police, she had also been put under CA 5150 (psychiatric arrest for 72 hour evaluation) when I took her to Stanford hospital this May. I had just heard from our lawyer that there is the 3rd case today and am really shocked.
Our lawyer moved the case to mental court, and told me that she is going to get one infraction and 2 misdemeanor convictions. My question is that is there anyway to reduce her convictions? she is green card, I don't want her to have trouble with INS.
