I lived in Que 10 years ago. Here some old info maybe help: Living cost is much lower in Montreal than NY. You can get C$ 5/day for daycare. Maybe 10 now. You can apply BCC (5-10 years) to cross board for non-Canadian. Drive to NY for interview is not far. Canadian 医疗 is not as bad as you thought. I think it is between HMO and PPO. US is better if you have job. Canada is better for low income.
