It will more or less affect your job application

unless the nature of your job is more nerdy technical type... there was no point to argue in your case, 70 or 78 were almost same if the speed limit is < 70.

You may want to make the point clear at the time of interview if the job you are applying requires background check. Otherwise, you may not necessarily mention about it.
