Not sure what kind insrunce you bought. If it is from employer, liek you got a new job and enroll the HMO, PPO, etc. It starts from day one. all paid. The old insurance F(from previous company) will end in the end of month or week (depends on who company paid). As the employer pays 85-100% of the cost, and only cover family member. You have one month to tell your status change, like ahve new baby, etc. I don't think employer like pay non-family member.
