canadian PR and legal issue

as my canada pr application is still in processing. a couple of days ago, my boyfriend (canadian cityzen) and i were fighting in the public, we were throughing things around and did little bit pushing each other. the neighbours called police and we both were charged for demestic assultant.
I've been worried about it so much, i don't know if this is going to effect my PR application.
my school is trying to help me. but i'm so afraid to get any record, i'm so afraid to get even a warning, that's going to effect my PR, is that right?
Please please , could anybody kindly give me any suggestions?
