I am sorry for you. There is always no guarantee result, everything can be changed, unfortunately. 

You have to move on and handle the devorce properly. 

How old is your child ? Under 18 ? If your child is under 18, you still can fight for the child's benefit. If  the child is over 18 the chance is very low. the court will not consider that he has a responsiblity to financially support the kid when the kid is over 18. ( I mean in California) 

It is always better to get a lawyer to run the devorce for you, becuase there are alot of details you need a professional to help you. So that, you do not run into another problem again in the future with him for something you have signed under no explanation.
