车祸

In a recent accident, my brand new car (2014, only 600 mileage) resulted in a total loss. I bought my car about three weeks ago around $ 21,000. I have insurance for both sides. The accident was other side's fault( A truck suddenly lose control, slid into my  lane, hit my car and another person's car ). My insurance company gave me car's value only $17,000. the other side( trouble maker) might have the same insurance as me . In addition to my car damage, I have some personal injury.

In my situation, should I call a lawyer to settle the car damage and personal injury issues? Thanks for help.
