employers will say that but we all know there must be a cause before firing. a lawsuit is hard to come by without some solid grounds. typically a lawsuit is based on racial discrimination, age discrimination, whistleblower rights, etc. your friend should consult a lawyer immediately. the fact her hu*****and died does not necessarily forego his case.
