现在正在约会一位美国女孩，虽然对方想结婚，而且好像蛮听话的，我还是不太想，觉得她年龄小了点，而且学习中文进步不够大。

我想请教的问题是：假如，经济转差，我被裁员。需要求她救我，被迫结婚，是否可以立即保持在美国合法居留身份？- Technically you are out of status once you are fired, although the period before your current I-94 expiration does not count towards 3/10-yr bar.  On the other hand, once you are married to a US citizen you're qualified to be granted green card, regardless how long you have been out of status, whether or not subject to 3/10 yr bar.
