Violation information are shared among states through highway traffic act. When violations in another states are reported to California, DMV will determine the points as if the violations happened in California and impose the points on the record. To find out how many points or whether they are on your record, you should get a driving record from DMV. You can order one online and it costs only $5. Unfortunately a California attorney cannot help you unless your license is suspended and you are required to attend a DMV hearing. Otherwise, you must fight the ticket in UT to clear your record.
