If you have the I-539 form receipt notice and number, you could call USCIS 1-800-375-5283, or check it online at www.uscis.gov. If you have a lawyer to represent you, this lawyer must sign G-28 form, you could fire this lawyer anytime, just call USCIS, let them know that you want to hire this lawyer.
