医保公司往往没有时间和精力仔细查看核对每个病人的账单，作为病人你自己主动花时间，启动你医保公司的程序来dispute 这个账单，值得表扬！

你案例中的医生诊所的收费问题，我觉得是以下所说的Upcoding:

我来讲一个upbundling(也可以叫做double billing)的真实案例。

病人Bob 做了个bilateral nasal endoscopy(in layman’s terms, a two-nostril deep-sea plunge)的手术。他的账单是5，000美元。

他没有选择像你那样直接找医保公司，而是找了一个 private investigator for medical billing, 这个investigator 叫Pat写了一本书--MBAA’s Guide to Surviving Your Medical Bills，我正在看这本书。

Pat 看到他的手术师收他4，057美元 for one bilateral nasal endoscopy, 然后又收他1,203美元for an additional unilateral nasal endoscopy. 这样，Bob had been unbundled.

Pat给手术师打电话询问为什么要在一个手术中收了two nasal endoscopies 的费用。手术师解释说他本来计划是只做第一个，然后手术中他临时决定to go back in and clean out the base of Bob’s nasal cavity， 当然要为额外的服务进行额外收费。

Pat说，医保公司say no to 这类double-billing 。

在这本书的另外章节，Pat 还说不要因为医保公司支付大部分账单，病人就对账单的问题掉以轻心，因为羊毛出在羊身上，医保公司会通过增收病人的保险金来转移负担。我觉得她说的有道理，以后我会留意看账单，挑账单的毛病。
