for the OP, it's easy to tell whether s/he hit the first car first.
for the police or ins. comp., they can find it out just by asking the first driver - so what I was asking is probably already on the police report, but the OP didn't provide all the details.
The suggestion I gave was to contact his/her ins. comp., who should and most possibly will provide real help, not just suggestions. This is why we pay the ins. premium.
