Sandel may over-simplified the AA discussion but the way he presented it summarized the main arguments neatly.
1. Corrective argument -- level the playfield;
2. Compensatory argument -- make right to the past wrongs;
3. Teleological reasoning -- the purpose of edu, university mission (diversity, holistic, etc.);
For those who are familiar with western political theories, the AA arguments boils down to collectivism vs. individualism. We're yet to see strong counter-arguments from the right. I will keep an open mind and keep looking.
