Thank you for your thorough answer. We live in NJ. I am not sure about estate law here. The house was bought before our marriage. Actually, after his divorce, he paid off his ex wife and changed the title to himself. But when we got married, it had mortgage on the house, over 80% of total value then. We've been married for almost 15 years. We do not have pre-nup agreement.
My concern is that I don't want to lose total control on a primary residence to my hu*****and. If he passes away, will I have my elective share? Or the only way to have a fair share of control is to buy another house. Thanks
