Chinese citizen over 70-years-old go on Alaska cruise

I'm bringing my parents who hold Chinese passport to an Alaska cruise from and return to Seattle, WA, but the iternary has a one-day stop in Canada. Do they need visa to Canada? If yes, I heard they need Canadian doctor approval since they are over 70-year-old, is that true?
