maybe your resolution setting is not correct

It seems your video card was not adjust automatically to your screen.

you can try manual change it, or restart machine.

However, it is harder if you are using XP not Win7 or 8.

Sometimes your machine is just too old that doesn't support this wide screen, though this is less likely unless you are still running on 10 years old machine.

Tell more details for a 2nd thinking.
