门外汉请教相机购买问题，谢谢。

同事设备更新换代。旧机器转让。
Canon D50 机身，450 刀，带三脚架接口。不可以录像。用了约5年
新镜头EF 28-135 IS 350刀
我预算1000 左右，平时出去玩能用，也主要是拍1岁多孩子。我同事说可以买个100多的镜头专门拍小孩。
这套同事的相机值得买吗？
如果买新的，什么牌子和型号比较合适。谢谢看贴和回答。
