1997 Camry is non interference engine.  It uses belt.  It should be replaced at least once by now.  It will be too hard for you to do it yourself.  Any shop will charge for $350 to $500 to do it.  You can open the belt cover to check the condition to see if there any visible signs of cracks.

Stuts on 1997 Camry are low quality.  With the simptboms you described, both front stuts and stut mounts needs to be replaced.  If you go to any shop, it will cost you $500 and above. 

In the end, if you just drive around locally, you should save your money and do nothing.  However, you should buy an AAA membership for $60 a year in case your timing belt breaks while driving.  You can have a towed to any shop have it replaced.
