My opinion: if you buy a diesel car, only consider MB's

Reason - experience is gold. MB has been making diesel engines since a hundred years ago, from small to 18 wheels to locomotive, their expertise in diesel technology is second to none! Next in the line is VW, making diesel engines since 60's. BMW has just started to step into diesel making about since 2 years ago. You don't want to be a tester for their new products!
