请问各位大侠: 换TIMIG BELT 为什么要 TDC?

我一直在鼓足勇气想换我科罗拉的正时带, 反复阅读维修手册. 其中讲一定要把上下
轴转到TDC( TOP DEAD CENTER ). 我就是不明白其必要性. 我的理解是, 换皮带时
,只要上下齿轮的相当关系不变就行. 也就是说, 我随意选个位置, 在上下齿轮和发
动机上分别划上一道线...标志该齿轮与发动机身的关系, 然后把新皮带装上去, 保
持齿轮和机身的相对位置,也就是保持上下两齿轮的相对位置.不知道我的理解对不
对? 这年头想省个$300 块钱自己换...先谢谢各位!
