The question should be 'Can You Retire in US with $1M?'. The answer will be depended on your expenses and your age. Simple scenario is as follows,

A 62-year-old person with $1M investable asset, not include the primary residence.

Yes answer: yearly expense around $70k, $25k to $30k SS income, 4% withdrawal from $1M = $40k. Total income is around $70k.

No answer: yearly expense around $150k. $1M plus SS income can not generate that kind of income.
