You need to ask yourself, how do you invest the rest of your asset? At 45, I would think that you have been investing in real estate market, or stock market, or insurance market, or precious metal market, or commodity market, etc.
With the stock market at near or all time high and the bond market in the rates normalization period, it is very hard to invest in both markets. Plus, your view of real estate market which will prevent you to put in the real estate. I would leave the money in CD, not long term CD, rather short term of 6M to 1Y. Then I will wait for the broad market correction to find an entry point to put the money in Total Stock Market Fund like 'VTI'. If you want to use part of money for investing in individual stocks, then there are oppotunities right now. The correction has happened at individual stock level. For example, GE is already down 20% from its 52-weeks high. Hope this helps. Good luck!
