Do you have any other asset investments besides real estate?

I hope that you maximize your 401(k) and IRA investments since you are a two income family.  Real estate investment is just another asset class.  I would keep my real estate investment at most 50% of my asset, not any higher.  You need to have a balance between all the assets.  Historically, equity provides higher returns than real estate, but equity is more volatile than real estate.  Good luck.
