RE:不是绿卡Property tax就要按6%交么？appeal结果

以下是我去年11月份发的求助贴：

《南卡州，去年买的房，今年收到的税单是6%的税率（去年仍按4%）。去年通知说今年重新申请一下“Legal Residence"就可以了，谁知申请被拒了。理由是  ”不是绿卡或公民，不能申请Legal Residence...“

咨询了同事，查了南卡税法，说" For property tax purposes the term "Legal Residence" shall mean the permanent home or dwelling place owned by a person and occupied by the owner thereof and where he or she is domiciled. " 于是找 assessor argue 了几次，没用，只是一直强调 ”不是绿卡或公民，不能申请Legal Residence“

我有几个和我情况一模一样的同事，持H1B visa, 都是在前几年买的房，都按4%的税率缴纳proper tax.我想整个南卡州应该有上千个象我这个样的例子吧？跟assessor说，他竟然说那些应该是弄错了，等他们有时间一一会rebill。

现在在等待Notice，准备appeal, 不知哪位兄弟姐妹也有这样的经历，请指点一下。

1月份appeal, 唇枪舌战一个小时（两位好友帮忙），今天收到Board的信,按legal residence 4%交税

现在可以明了了，只要按US Residence 报税，房子是你的主要住所，再满足一些其他次要条件，就满足legal residence的要求。关于是否是绿卡只是assessor 的个人理解
