I got mine from craigslist for $140. Used it for many portrait sessions when the space is limited.

Then I got a 50mm 1.4G, again on craigslist of $280. My personal opinion, there is no comparison.

My suggestion is to get a used 50mm 1.4G. You will not regret it.
