这段说的是一般人在讲east bay的时候实际上都是说的这个所有人都接受的original （historical）definition，确实就是sf bay和san pablo bay沿岸城市，后面的大east bay是非常随意的变动的说法。接着看：

As development moves generally eastward, new areas are described as being part of the East Bay. In 1996, BART was extended from its terminus in Concord to a new station in Pitt*****urg, incorporating the newly expanded Delta communities of Pitt*****urg and Antioch as extended regions of the East Bay。

所以你一定要说antioch是east bay，也没有绝对的错，因为east bay根本没有严格的法律上的定义，但是这不等于一般人说起来心里没有个数。大家说的主要还是original definition。房地产市场方面，说起east bay的房子，一般人想的就是沿岸城市，是在city上班的人能住的，而不是extended regions of the east bay。

其实外地人爱去那种地方买就买嘛，把整体房价太高对我们当地人也没有坏处。咱们只是好心去提醒一下，人家还觉得我们烦。还是我们太傻。从现在开始只说好。
