Court files cannot be sealed without some exceptional reason, which is described below. This is a public right to information. Anyone with a valid driver's license can request and examine your file in the courthouse, but only limited to motions you filed, court minutes, and orders. Income and declaration forms will be in the file to be examined by the public. The only thing you cannot see is the actual tax forms, W-2, etc. The court transcripts are not available in the file. To obtain transcripts you would have to contact the reporter and will be charged a fee, typically $25-40 a page.

You can petition the court to seal the record. This will not be easy since you must provide evidence that if the record is not sealed there is substantial possibility that an overwhelming interest is prejudiced. Essentially you are asking the court to overriding the public interest to information. Your own financial interest does not qualify. It may qualify if a child would be victimized if the record is not sealed.
