People moves and 1/60 is way too slow. 

Typically, you will need 1/(1.5x400) = 1/600 S to avoid lens shake but VR help a little. 

Come on.  How much will you spend to go to Africa?  Don't want to buy a ticket to the zoo?  You must practice how to shoot animals.  most of the time, they will not look at you. 

If I were you, I would go ISO 3200 to get my speed to at least 1/320 and use CH continuous clicking.  So that you get that 1/1,000,000 chance an animal looks straight at you.  I would be very pissed if all my pictures from Africa would look like these.
