Looks like there is no rockfish on the east coast

Just did some search, on east coast, they call stripped bass "rockfish", and from the photo, it does not look like rockfish you have on the west coast.

 

That makes sense, on east coast, Most are flad seabed. Theer are some rocks up north (Rhode island, Maine, etc), but I guess the water there is too cold for rockfish.

 

I have never heard about rockfish before untill I see yor post(I just went through all your posts). I will definitely hunt for rockfish next time when I am on  the west coast.
