At 30mph, Prius needs about 2KW to keep it going on a flat surface. The Prius has a 1.3KWh battery. So 30mph*(1.3KWh/2KW)=19.5miles. Of course, this is only in the ideal situation. But I don't believe Prius can only travel 2 miles if range is only important thing in consideration when the engine is out.
This is based on a simple math.
