Thanks a lot for the info.
But my loan official told me that we can only make the terms shorter by paying extra monthly payments to their bank each months.

that means, different banks have different policies on prepaying the mortgage.We would like to shorten our terms and pay less monthly payments by paying off more mortgage payments.Is that doable? Or we have to find loan officials from other banks to do that?
