to me style also means references from fashion figures from all

and general looks from each time period. it is very important to learn/at least to know them. every clothing item has a reference, when put them together, if the combination is wrong, then usually the look is wrong.

so it could be constently learnt.....when you see somebody that's "stylish", it usually means this person can play with all of these references really well, sometimes can even play beyond the rules.
