An older than 80 years house, poorly maintained, situates in a prime location of a sought after neighborhood in an expensive town (average house price>1MM.
Large lot, 3 times of an average lot in this town, matured trees in the backyard.
Decent square feet (> 3000), nice layout, just too old and smelly.
For your information, a lot close to this house is for sale, 1/3 of this house's acreage, asking $300K lower than this house. Another lot, with about same acreage, asking the same price with this one.
My question is: how much does it cost to renovate such an old house up to today's living standards?
Many thanks,
anyone helps me about the renovation of an old house.

Gut it out! It is not a really historic house.

if you not plan any major framing work, expect $35-50/sqft.

I think it really depends on what you will use the house for.
