URGENT! Rocky landlord on tenants issue

Tentnents are late on rent for 10 days already. Now I lost every perspectives to get them in contact, no phone calls, no email replies, no nothing.
They have rented my house for a year, the lease expired this month.
They hinted they may move out because their in-law will come live with them.
I took it as excuse, the house is about 2000sqt, 4 bed rooms for 5 is not big enough? I am living in a half szed crappy house with other 5:(.

Any way, strange thing is this morning 7am I recieved a phone call made from their house line, the caller sounds like an old black woman, after i asked who that was? she said she dialed a wrong number, I told her, you are not, and I wanted her to pass the phone to the renter, she just hang up on me.

Q:

May I send out pay-or-quit through email?

May I call policeman to go check on my house there? I am thinking to leave some messages on both their house line and cell phones and give them one hour to reply to me, other wise the policeman will come to the door. Do I need to be there as well? or better be?

What else should I do to make them on time again?
