I am not exicted about strong earnings put up by the banks.

Goldman significantly relied on its prop trading desks to make money. Income from trading is not consistent anyway.

Citi and BOA, well, they can always cook their books:)

Recent market rallies are driven, in my opinion, by the liquidity injected by the Fed. Rally will last into the year end unless the US economy deteriorates again.
