The way the author wrote is kind of misleading - his post let people think about monthly salary, or yearly salary; Sure small company tend to offer more stock option and "bonus" - but be careful, layoff like is year 2002-2004 is terrible.

Housing price in Silicon valley is down; no one know how long its price will touch the bottom yet. No one is confident enough.
