(1) drain oil completely, leave the drain plug open, let car sit there for an hour, tighten the plug
(2) add more than enough oil to engine crank case (if manual says it uses 4 quarts oil, add 5 quarts). Don't start engine but just crank it for couple times (this step is to splash the oil)

(6) Fill oil to right level. done.
