first of all i guess u or ur hu*****and might spill some coffee or any kind soft beverage on the central consol area, my meaning is the area around the floor gear selector handle. the assembly which the mechanic or part man called floor selector is actually composed of 4 parts, 1. floor selector, 2. parking inter lock mechanism, 3. winter/standard mode switch, and 4. electronic selector control module. the module is damaged by liquid that flows down to the module circuit when the ignition key ON, even the water spilt in from sunroof when raining would damage the module if the sunroof keeps open. the bad thing for u is the MB doesn't sell the module seperately. they sell the whole assembly that cost a lot money $575.00 in US.
