I like simplicity and ok return for retirement account.

I can use option to catch up for both fun and money. Mutual fund makes me dizzy since I do not know what the hell they are doing. A typical mutual fund has hundreds of compoments. I am sure there are lot of losers in the basket. They do not even tell you what exactly the components are. However, the best way to avoid risk is to park money in CD though. Vast diversification is not a solution in my humble opinion.
