plus, here are some thoughts of my own...
- try to capture the natural expressions of kids... the kid in the 2nd pic seems a little "shocked". in order to do this, u probably will need to use continuous shooting mode, and a longer lense to creat some comfort zone between u and the subject.
- use a little wider angle, as a result it is more flexible to crop later. does the first pic come out from a crop?
- sure, a better lense can make you more capable ..:-)
