I just copied the website for you and I have never used this model or similar myself and I am not a computer guy either ( I even don't know what is ROM). I have a simple one which can only load a couple of region at a time (24MB). I guess for PDA, you up grade to a bigger card by youself.

Be very careful when you buy GPS software online (ebay). The detail map software are locked and can be used for only 1 or 2 GPS. Some guys sell opened software which cannot be unlock by your GPS. I bought a mapsource N american, but it turned out that it couldn't be unlocked. I had to claim my money back. You can imagin how many trouble I got.
