There is a certain amount of hassle in keeping the lenses sterile (extremely important), just like any other types of contact lenses. She has a few friends in Junior High who are also wearing them. They all love it, esp. those kids doing sports.
Long term effect is still something I am a little concerned about. The newer products like CRT are much more gas permeable than before. And for those kids whose myopia is progressing rapidly, CRT may slow it down which is a really important benefit. The key is to go with an optometrist who has the training as well as the the corneal mapping equipment (the machine is supposed to be very costly) for close follow-up, esp. in the first couple of months. Not all people are candidates for CRT treatment.
