Several friends families have made following choices
1) put their children in international school
2) have grand parents stay in US with them
3) put them in boarding school
4) Mom stays in US with the children
Unfornately none turns out good.
Particularly on the option #2 which you are considering, both children went into IVYs, but one flunk out, the other one got depression and stayed at home after graduation. Both parents quit their jobs and sold their business in China and came back to US to help their adult children. Eventually I believe both children and parents are going to be fine, but it would take a lot of efforts.
