I agree. What Zhou did was genuinely from his heart. Zhou said privately to his aides, to paraphrase, that you won't realize Mao’s greatness unless you have gone through the Long March.
Also, without Mao's 崇高威望, Mao wouldn't be able to start Cultural Revolution.
