Department store:  Macy, Sears, Lord and Taylor, at malls. 

Big Box:  Walmart, Target, Kmart (defunct) 

Specialty Store: BBBeyond, Dicks Sporting Goods, Michaels, Best Buy, Toys R Us (defunct) Circuit City (defunct) etc. 

Discount store: Ross, Marshall, TJMax, Dollar Tree etc. 

Department store and Specialty store seem to decline,  Big box and discount store seems to survive.
