Hi,
I bought a new townhouse. A few days after walk-through, I found my sewage pipe leaked. There was a hole in one of PVC pipes. An electrician drilled a hole into the pipe, and he taped the hole. My builder came and fixed the issue with a Fernco coupling which is basically a rubber coupling with a couple of hose clamps. I am not too happy with this solution. I want the builder to fix it like a new sewage pipe system. But the builder does not want to do it. The plumber said Fernco coupling is a standard way to fix a leaking pipe.
I have another meeting with the builder next week. I'm going to demand that they replace the pipe rather than a "band-it" approach with a Fernco coupling. If I fail to get what I want, I plan to take it to court. Does anyone here have a similar experience? Do you think I have a case against the builder? Thanks!
Best regards,
Alex
