Investment is non emotional at all. Such house will sell at 10-20% discount at both the peak time and recession time. But the return percentage is about the same as other normal houses. You will buy it at 10-20% lower than normal house, you will sell it at 10-20% lower than normal house at boom time. But the absolute price appreciation percentage from low time to high time is exactly the same as other normal houses. All investors look at is the percentage of return for his investment.

As for rental rate, this house can also rent 10-20% lower than regular rent rate for the similar house. I have a landlord for many years, I know that if you charge 10-20% below market rate, these houses can rent very quickly. Not every renters are sensitive to noise.
